This scandalous bagatelle for lemon lovers is a dessert filled with a delicious creamy citrus flavor. It starts with our family recipe for the Lemon Lovers Pound Cake which is heavily brushed with a simple homemade lemon syrup. The cake is cut into cubes and then covered with soft lemon cream and whipped cream, then garnished with fresh lemon slices. It's outrageously delicious!

ingredients

1 lemon almond cake cut into 1 inch cubes {Or, shiny buttermilk cake with lemon)
1/2 cup of crystallized sugar
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 box of 2.7 oz Dream Whip
3 cups of very cold whole milk divided
2 oz 3.4 oz instant lemon pudding mix
16 oz Frozen Whipped Filling OR 4 cups of fresh sweet whipped cream
2 tbsp. Soup of grated white chocolate
Slices of lemon and sprigs of fresh mint for decoration
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and lemon juice over medium-high heat. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved, then cool.

In the bowl of a mixer, whisk together the Dream Whip [the box contains 2 envelopes] and 2 cups cold whole milk. Whisk for 5 minutes or until soft peaks form.

Add the two packages of lemon pudding and the rest of the whole milk cup. Whisk for 2-3 minutes until thickened.

To assemble, divide the cake into cubes in half. Start with a layer of cubed cake at the bottom of the small bowl. Brush with 1/2 of the lemon syrup. Add a layer of lemon cream and 1/2 of the whipped topping. Repeat with the cake, brush with lemon syrup, lemon cream, with a whipped topping.

Sprinkle top with grated white chocolate and garnish with slice of lemon and fresh mint, if desired.

Cool well for at least 4 hours before serving.
Remarks
A cake of lemon or vanilla bakery pastry can be replaced, if desired.
